In almost every neighborhood there is a family that is either going hungry or on the brink of it. We at Lift Truck Supply have been blessed with tremendous growth over the last few years, and to pay our blessing forward we have decided to spend time volunteering.
This year LTS was given the opportunity to visit the East Texas Food Bank at both Thanksgiving and Christmas time. We were able to send 85 employees over the two holidays to volunteer 255 work hours. Thanks to the East Texas Food Bank, our generous owner Craig Murphy, and our employees – we were able to package and box 26,550 meals.
It feels great to work for a company that gives back to the community; it’s a way of showing gratitude for all the gifts that have been bestowed upon our company and our families. And, it gives us a chance to work together for an altruistic purpose that is bigger than our day to day responsibilities. Being able to volunteer as part of the LTS family lets me know that we’re more than just a forklift dealership.

The East Texas Food Bank services over 252,900 clients in 26 counties throughout East Texas, covering nearly 20,000 miles. According to Sharlette Jones, Volunteer Coordinator; the food bank is especially in need of volunteers between January and June to help meet the needs of our community. No matter where you are located, there is a local food bank or shelter that needs your help. Please, reach out today to offer your help as an individual or with your organization to volunteer work or submit donations.
Everybody should experience what it feels like to volunteer to help somebody in need, especially in this season of giving, while not receiving anything in return. You will always work harder for a company that you see puts in extra effort to help those less fortunate.
